A Wilderness Retreat

Our packages that feature Nine Reef Lodge offer some of the best Salmon fishing in the world. At peak season from the 25 of June, to the 15 of July the fishing is very consistent. During this period the Upper Humber is receiving a run of small female salmon ranging from 3 - 8lbs numbering around 20 000 fish. These fish settle into pools along the length of the Upper Humber and its tributaries in the month of July and as long as water conditions stay cool and at good levels the fishing is good throughout the summer. The first week of August the Humber is host to a second substantial run of fish, which consists of predominately male fish 5 - 10lbs. All of these fish must pass through a narrow run that is located directly in front of Nine Reef Lodge.

9 Reef Lodge is remote and has no access by road. There are three main methods of transport we us to get clients to the lodge.

Ride there on ATV
Or fish your way there in a Water Master

The section of river in the vicinity of our lodge has water to suit all anglers. There are calm pools that are great for dry flying and lots of great water for the traditional wet fly. This section also has areas for the Spay fisherman. For clients that take advantage of the Water Masters and fish there way to the lodge, the trip to the lodge casually fishing each good area takes about half a day, 4 – 6 hours. ( 15 km)

If an angler wants to seriously cover the river, it can take the best part of the day. The Upper Humber has countless lays for salmon and during peak season you can hook fish just about anywhere.

For the clients that decide to travel there by ATV or Helicopter, there is plenty of water to fish just outside the lodge. Camp nine reef is one of the best fishing locations on the Humber River for annual catches.

Your accommodations are a large executive style lodge that will surly surpass anyone’s expectation for comfort in a remote setting. There is a full time chef on to take care all clients dinning needs.
